Well, to get everyone up to speed, we are pregnant!!!
I had a fleeting suspicion shortly before Memorial Day weekend when I was eating yogurt and it made me want to puke, which is beyond weird for me. I waited it through as long as I could and on Memorial Day, we found out I was pregnant!!! No second test needed because I know I am in tune with my body. I was so excited all I could do was cry and shove the pee stick almost into Conrad's face. The next day, I went for a blood test and two days after that, we found out for 100%! Little did everyone else know, I stopped taking the birth control at the end of Dec, SURPRISE, MOM!
They made us wait (what seemed like) forever before our first appointment, which wasn't what I expected. The second one, we were supposed to hear the baby's heartbeat and we were supposed to meet with a doctor but we got to be graced with the presence of a PA who acted like someone set their tail on fire. After what felt like being gutted, we heard the heartbeat for like 2 seconds. BUMMER! So, I don't really think I heard the heartbeat because she was talking to me the whole time.
As for pregnancy "side effects" (as I call them), the nausea is ridiculous. I feel sick most of the day because I work in between a 350 degree oven and a deep fryer. So, the smell of yeast, bread, grease, or fried chicken makes me unbelievably gaggy most of the day. My cup size has definitely gone UP and my jeans no longer fit, in fact, I've moved on to yoga pants for now. I haven't had any cravings (due to the whole day-long nausea crap). But, my hormones are beginning to kick my butt.
Conrad's been great through all of this so far! He loves to rub my belly (even though it's still small), talk to the baby, kiss my stomach, and "hug" the baby. He has been a super husband when I lack the energy/time to keep up with the house work or food end of things. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful man as my husband/daddy of our baby!
I'm pretty sure that is all for now <3
